Save the date: Historians’ Unconference on June 7 and 8, 2024 in Bern

7. June 2024 to 8. June 2024

The Swiss Network of Female Historians is inviting you to the first ever Historians’ Unconference on June 7 and 8, 2024 in Bern.

Historians in Switzerland are longing for more spaces to discuss and reflect on the state of historical studies in Switzerland as well as our professional practices and forms of knowledge from an intersectional feminist perspective. This is something we have repeatedly found in the course of our network activities.

Inspired by the pioneering «Schweizerische HistorikerInnentagungen», the Swiss Network of Female Historians is therefore organising a national Unconference in 2024 in partnership with infoclio.ch and the Gosteli Foundation, which is holding its annual conference, the «Gosteli-Gespräche», as part of the Unconference this year.

The Unconference is an open, collaborative event in which all participants decide together which topics and questions will be discussed. The Historians’ Unconference is inclusive and, in addition to students and researchers, is also aimed at history teachers, employees of cultural and memory institutions, freelancers and all other historians.

More information will follow. For planning reasons, the number of participants will be limited. Until then: Mark your calendars for the first Historians’ Unconference on 7 and 8 June!
